Applications and Components

What Addyx builds for the Aeronautics sector

Beyond helicopter components, we develop advanced structural reinforcements such as Omega Stringers for fuselages/wings and ultra-light structures for airliner seating.

Applications in the Sector

PRIMARY STRUCTURES · OMEGA STRINGERAERONAUTICS — EX. 01

Omega Stringers and Structural Fuselage Reinforcements

Omega Stringers are bulged or trapezoidal reinforcement profiles used to stiffen fuselage panels and aircraft wings. Addyx water-soluble mandrels enable perfect co-curing of the stringers with the primary structure, ensuring the highest structural performance.

CABIN INTERIORS · AIRLINER SEATINGAERONAUTICS — EX. 02

Airliner Seating Structures

Engineering and manufacturing of lightweight frames, backrests and armrests in carbon fibre for passenger seats of commercial airliners and business jets. Cutting even a few kilograms from each seat translates into a drastic saving in fuel and emissions over the entire operational life of the aircraft, while maintaining full compliance with crash tests and FST requirements.

ROTORCRAFT & STRUCTURESAERONAUTICS — EX. 03

Rotors and Structural Components for Helicopters

Drive shafts, rods and tubular composite structures with continuous internal surfaces, designed for applications with high cyclic loads and high fatigue resistance.

Why Addyx in this sector

The Addyx advantage in the Aeronautics sector

The WSM-170 water-soluble mandrel is compatible with cures up to 180 degrees and behaves like an expanding membrane at temperature: it compacts the laminate from the inside, eliminates the internal bag and ensures surface quality on both sides. At the end of the cycle it dissolves in tap water without leaving residues in the cavities — a critical requirement for FAA/EASA-certified structural elements and cabin fittings.
